The Florida Bar disbarred Mark Stopa after deeming him a threat to decent society.

Hundreds of people have Mark Stopa horror stories. Stopa was supposed to be their savior. Instead, he became their nightmare.

Stopa stole their house out right from underneath them. He bought their homes from them using shady means. After he took ownership, he rented the property out to people while the property was still in foreclosure litigation. Stopa would lie to the court by saying he was still representing the homeowners in litigation. Although he was representing himself. He did this until the case was either settled or lost.

If he lost, no big deal. He collected tens of thousands of dollars worth of rent and let the lender evict the homeowners. If he won, he could keep collecting rent from his former clients or sell the property at roughly a 500% profit. Either way, he made money.

In addition, Stopa is still actively “practicing law.”

He has filed nearly 20 frivolous and vexatious lawsuits since being disbarred. Ironically, he filed them all in the 6th Circuit Court in Pinellas County. The very same court that led the charge to have him disbarred.
